Since this project’s inception, eCampusOntario has been consulting with experts in the field to design the shape and scope of the Open at Scale Trades and Apprenticeship initiative. Together, we have been busy identifying problem areas for apprentices in the Ontario Training Standard, testing new technologies that may offer potential remediations to challenges faced, and exploring existing resources that can be leveraged for reuse and adaptation.

Here’s a list of some of the people who have been working closely alongside eCampusOntario:

  • Ontario Colleges’ Heads of Apprenticeship Training (HAT)’s subcommittee dedicated to the design and implementation of this project
  • Mark Lamontagne, Green Hat Educational Services
  • Tracie Marsh-Fior, Chief Operating Officer, Pilot Diamond Tools
  • Chad Flinn, Instructor, BCIT

Additionally, eCampusOntario is currently working on a journey mapping exercise with apprenticeship students using our Student Experience Design (SXD) Lab methodologies. Results of this exercise will be available as a report in June 2019. We look forward to continuing our conversations with subject matter experts and moving this project ahead with close consultations with those who are impacted the most.
